Sedona

Made it back to Iowa yesterday after a spring break journey to Arizona with my good friend Josh. We spent several nights camping in an established Forest Service campground (Manzanita is its name- great place) then spent 3 nights backpacking and setting up camp trailside. It was initially a relief to get back to Iowa, but today I’m feeling a bit melancholy. The hiking was often difficult and I slept poorly under the gorgeous but cold desert sky, but I loved every minute of it. It was exactly the invigorating, inspiring recharge that I needed. I already miss it though. The West does wonders to appease my wanderlust, but it is a very temporary fix.

In the near-future I plan on posting a more detailed account of the trip (and pictures!).
